Even "Rob B Hood" is better than this watered-down piece of Hollywood dogcrap. I've said it before and I'll say it again, go back to Hong Kong, Jackie. All Hollywood is doing making a laughing stock out of you and forcing you to do all this ham-fisted, family crap. Hell, they don't even allow you do your own stunts. At least in Hong Kong, you'd be able flex your talents. |

Jackie Chan sucks. Rumble in the Bronx is a shitpiece. Asian crossover? All Chan has done is bring the cheesy-stunt-show genre over here, while doing some "American" films while holding his nose. Read some interviews - Chan doesn't think Rush Hour is funny in the least - he likes cheesy slapstick crap like Rumble in the Bronx. |

Jackie must have a horrible agent. Just because he's pushing 60, doesn't mean he has to star in crap like this, it would be better if he just produced, than put himself in crappy kid flicks. |

Now, I love Jackie Chan. I have grown up watching his movies and I am a major fan but I think it's time he gave up, enough is enough. I don't think Hollywood is neutering him, he has enough sense to make his own decision on wether or not to do a movie like this. He is still capable of doing some pretty good action films but he chooses not to, instead he chooses to do these kid friendly movies he thinks the world wants him to do when his true fans don't. So this is what is has come to for Jackie Chan? The actor has signed on to star in the action comedy THE SPY NEXT DOOR. The film will have Chan starring as a neighbor who is watching a group of children and is forced to fight off secret agents when one of the kids downloads a secret code. Nevermind that this sounds like something Hulk Hogan would have starred in 20 years ago, is this how Hollywood neuters one of the most popular Asian crossover stars in history? With all the things you can do with Jackie Chan you have him babysitting kids? Did we learn nothing from THE TUXEDO? Having seen the RUSH HOUR films, we know Jackie's got a good sense of humor but bring the action first and sprinkle some comedy in not the other way around. The film will be directed by Brian Levant who has experience domesticating once tough actors (see Ice Cube in ARE WE THERE YET?). For those of us who appreciate what else Chan has to offer, the Hong Kong action drama SHINJUKU INCIDENT is set for release later this year.
