Sin City 2 NOT off? May. 31, 2007
Source: Rotten Tomatoes   by: Omar Aviles

Sin City Yesterday, we told you about Michael Madsen voicing concerns that the planned SIN CITY sequel had been shitcanned in the wake of Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez' double whammy exploitation filmgasm, GRINDHOUSE, doing less than stellar business at the box office. In order to settle the significant number of fanboy hearts that experienced near fatal arrhythmias on hearing this, SIN CITY co-director Frank Miller has chimed in with an appeasing "what you talking about, Willis??" response. According to the comic legend, the film's still a go but there's just been a couple of setbacks - namely, both him and Rodriguez are going ahead with other projects before they re-team to bring us some hyperstylized black and white goodness. Says Miller: "Sin City 2 is still likely to happen…just not right away. The script is written and Robert and I are raring to go, but it looks like I'm going to be doing The Spirit first and Robert's going to be doing Barbarella first." Disappointing, sure, but we can hold out a few months for a second round of Basin City's particularly violent brand of street justice.

Extra Tidbit: Any particular stars who didn't star in SIN CITY that any of you would like to see in the sequel or future sequels?

SIN CITY STAR
Well Johnny Depp is a given but to make things even cooler I'd like to see Leonardo Dicaprio play some sort of vilian. He would be awesome.

Keira Knightley would be a good chic for the movie. Woody Harrelson... I really don't know just throwing some out there for ya lol.

YOU MEAN NOT EVERYTHING ON JOBLO IS TRUE?

Wow. I never thought that a hastily posted rumor would come back to bite you in the ass.

I swear, this site is so full of unfounded gossip these days, it's getting ridiculous. Instead of posting a bunch of bullshit on a slow news day, just toss up some pictures of chicks in short shorts.

HAVE WE LEARNED NOTHING FROM "THE SHADOW" AND "DICK TRACY"?
Any comic book that came out of the early 1900's that aint associated with Batsy or Supes, WILL PROBABLY NOT TRANSLATE INTO A GOOD MOVIE!

Truth be told, I actually kinda liked The Shadow (1994, 7/10), it was no Superman or anything, but it was AIGHT.

If anything, i'd rather hear about Frank Miller relaxing at home waiting for Double R to finish Barbarella (IF that'll be any good).

I gotta agree with Brentage, he has it spot on, and I also agree with MadMax, bue I'd love to see Bruce Campbell do anything, just finished his book today, a great read.

MILLER'S SPIRIT
Bruce Cambell would make an awesome spirit. Everytime i watch The Hudsucker Proxy and they show cambell i always thought, "shit, he looks exactly like the spirit."

I don't care about sin city 2, as long as rodriguez stays away from barbarella!

VOTE FOR GINA...
barbarella will be coooool...sin city 2 i am desperate for, it was astounding. i say gina gershon is the hottest thing on 2 legs (bound/showgirls, anyone?) she could be hot, and dangerous...and jared leto (fight club/requiem 4 a dream/u.s. psycho) is a great actor, not afraid to look bad onscreen.

Knew it the whole time, that's all I can say.

As for actors....ooooo......Rachel Weisz as Ava, Johnny Depp as Wallace, Ron Perlman as Jerry or the Captain, Famke Jennsen as Mariah, Anthony Hopkins as Wallenquist, Sanaa Lathan as Esther (Wallace's girl), and Michelle Williams as Delia.

GOOD!
HOpefully then, they can get Depp, Jolie and everyone else they wanted, if it will be a few months/year away.
