I never really understood why Wesley Snipes' career crumbled. He was totally badass in DEMOLITION MAN, RISING SUN, and PASSENGER 57, all classics that I hold close to my heart. With the Blade Trilogy, he proved he could headline a financially viable franchise. And Suddenly POOF! Snipes' profile plummeted and he went from being a bankable action star to the tax-evading king of the straight-to-DVD.

Well folks, it appears as though Snipes' much publicized legal troubles won't deter him from making a big screen comeback. In director Antoine Fuqua's (TRAINING DAY) latest entitled BROOKLYN'S FINEST, Snipes stars opposite Don Cheadle, Richard Gere, and Ethan Hawke (wow!). Snipes plays a drug dealer in the film, which looks at three unconnected Brooklyn cops who wind up at the same deadly location after enduring vastly different career paths. If Snipes is serious about reinvigorating his career, this is definitely a solid start. Check out the first look at Snipes and Cheadle all decked out for the period crime saga BELOW.

Wesley Snipes is a good actor
Yeah it's been awhile since I have seen wesley in a major movie.I totally agree with most of the people who think that Snipes is a great actor whose career has taken a fall.Hopefully he'll get back to making good movies and interest in him will follow.

Oh, and Blade Trinity's sucking is all David Goyer's fault, me thinks... maybe not a bad writer... but a terrible director!

I've always been a fan of Snipes myself, and always been quite shocked at the way in which his career downturned. I mean, JCVD & Seagal you can clearly see their movies getting proggressively worse and worse until they became straight-to-DVD fodder...but Snipes went from fan favourite to makins crappy movies in Slovakia in the blink of an eye... I know he has fame of being hard to work with but...

Anyway, Im there, this movie will be awesome.

FYI, best Snipes movie, White Men Cant Jump.

I too cant believe what happened with his career, he is such a versatile actor. He should definitely be A-List.

White Men Can't Jump. Best Snipes movie ever. I like him but HoyleHaw said it, "he became the black steven segal" except steven segal always sucked in my own opinion. Nice to see him back on the big screen.

I was never so much a Wesley Snipes fan as much as I always thought he was more talented than much of the material he found himself in. I think back in the day he was at least equal to Laurence Fishburne, something of a poor man's Denzel Washington, if you will. Then he wanted to be maybe the black Bruce Willis, and after the Blade franchise ultimately failed and he bit off the hand that fed hi...

Then he wanted to be maybe the black Bruce Willis, and after the Blade franchise ultimately failed and he bit off the hand that fed him, and helped in part by a few action-over-plot movies, he wound up being the black Steven Seagal.

Anyway, just getting to star alongside Don Cheadle in a film is a step in the right direction, I think.

The Breakdown.
Wesley Snipes is a good actor as well as a capable action star, but he is notoriously difficult to work with.

When you make waves as he did, you better have the clout to open a movie with just your name, otherwise producers and directors will not hire you.

the poor performance of Blade 3 was probably the nail in his coffin as far as being an A/B list movie and act...

if he ever wants to regain his former glory, he needs to check his ego and stop doing wacky shit like opening a compound that trains bodyguards...the FBI gets really uncomfortable with stuff like that.

Wesley, get your shit together and there will be plenty of people to welcome you back!

'Bout Time
I've been a huge Wesley fan since Major League. I've been collecting his movies since DVD became a format, and I hated the way his career turned. Maybe this will be the start of his comeback. Great cast too, by the way.

One of the best
People may have forgotten bc of all his straight to DVD crap, but he is widely considered one of the best actors from roger ebert to other fellow actors his talent is recognized, but for some reason money overtook quality when it came to his choice of roles (and who could blame him). So hopefully with all of his troubles (mostly by his own design) he can get back on the ball and make great movies!

Man, Don Chealde and Ethan Hawke are going to be pissed when Snipes drags them down to Direct2DVD land.

Just ask Ryan Phillipe and Jason Statham how, in the height of their movie careers, got dragged down to DVDdom by Snipes being blackballed in Hollywood.

This is GOOD news
I respect Snipes. One of the finest actors in Hollywood. US MARSHALS is one of my favorite movies.

Since he is making an come back, I can't wait to see this movie in the big screen.

I'm with ya JoBlo. This is good news, and I'll definetley go and check this flick out. I'm not sure why Snipes career took such a drastic turn for the worse, but I hope he can get back on the right track. And pay his damn bills!

Maybe years ago he pissed off some powerful folks in hollywood and got kicked to the curb. Oh well. It would've been cool to seem him as "Gamble" instead...

i'm glad to see Snipes working on big name stuff again, i was worried he'd end up like Van Damme and Seagal stuck on direct to DVD action flicks, which is good cause Snipes is by far a much better actor.

No you are not alone. I too am a huge fan of Mr Snipes. Demolition Man is a superb popcorn flick. He was also good in "US Marshalls". I hope he can make a full comeback. He deserves it.

And if Snipes indeed has properly resurfaced, I think his Blade character should have a cameo in some upcoming Marvel flick, in order for them to keep expanding their universe. I can already picture Stark flying around, noticing Blade hunting some vamps on a rooftop or some sh*t like that... and MAN, did Blade Trinity suck A$$.
