The trailer isn't set to premiere until later tonight on Entertainment Tonight (people still watch that show?) or on Friday enclosed with prints of THE GOLDEN COMPASS but this morning USA Today has your first look at eight new pictures from the film. And I can pretty much guarantee you this SPEED RACER is nothing like you imagined. How to describe it? Trippy? Colorful? Boy, I tell you I can't wait to see what's going on in the trailer now. Click any of the pics below to head to the USA Today article to flip through the slideshow and read a short article about the film.

Extra Tidbit: Star Christina Ricci had only ever seen "Speed Racer" in Geico commercials.

Plus, Emile Hirsch is a damn good actor.

I dont know, it just look so crazy that i love it. And that little kid is awesome, met him a couple times, really good kid. Only thing is Racer X's costume looks a little cheap

I think it looks pretty damn good for the goal that they're aiming for!
Wicked stuff, at least it's something new and inventive from hollywood, rather than some shitty remake/sequel.
