Those rogues over at Cinematical just got a scoop that Sony might be looking at making SPIDERMAN 4 and 5 back to back, with, well...
Apparently, in the last few weeks, James Vanderbilt (Zodiac) has turned in a working draft of Spider-Man 4 to the studio. However, according to our source, "his story arc has encompassed two films, making Spider-Man 5 shootable at the same time."
There's no word yet as to what that arc is, but if we're talking two SPIDEY movies, we're likely talking two counts of Mary Jane being in peril in the third act. Of course, SPIDERMAN 3 was notoriously disliked by fans, but it still made damn near $900 million worldwide, which I'm sure put a lot of people in money swimming pools like they were Scrooge McDuck. Still, the important question: are you guys interested in seeing another two? Would you like to see Raimi, Dunst and Maguire back? Or just a selection?
Extra Tidbit:
All of Kirsten Dunst screams in SPIDERMAN 3 were recycled from the second movie.

METAL JOKER...
Haha! Look who's talking! I'm up for them! Up the ante, bring Raimi on as producer, get a new, fresh director, bring back Tobey, give MJ a much smaller part (maybe she can leave town or die) and keep on truckin'. You can't drop this franchise after it built so much with what it's had cast/crew-wise. No, they were not the greatest movies ever but there is still some life left in them. Give 'em a chance!! |

NOT INTERESTED
Not at all interested in more but if they end up making two more I hope they would keep the cast. The "reboot" of a franchise seems to really be in right now but I only think that should be done for movies that haven't had a new movie in a long while. Batman worked because the last one was a good while ago and The Hulk seems a little too soon for me. Either keep the same cast or wait about 10 years. IMO. |

As posted earlier, i think 3 would have been a lot better if they introduced venom in 3 and did a story arc in to part 4 to include him, with another villian like lizard, electro, or carnage. Therefore this could be a step in the right direction. I liked all 3 spiderman films(the first was the best), but wouldn't mind the director and cast being replaced. Toby would probably be the only return I'd like to see. Also, just because reboots have worked for some franchises, doesn't mean it's a magic want that will fix all the problems with other franchises. It could very well end up worse than the original movies, or just re-tread the story lines we've already seen (which I'm not too interested in). |

FOUR
I'm probably in the minority here who would be happy with keeping the same cast for another 2 movies. I'd like to see Dylan Baker finally transform into The Lizard maybe persued by Kraven the Hunter. If they were to 'Reboot' the franchise already and recast, it would be a shame not to utilise Baker as The Lizard as it seemed to be planned. Personally i think part 3 was just a blip, they could easily get back on track for part 4.
If they did recast, i wouldn't be surprised to see Peter Parker played by Shia LaBeouf. |

It's ironic, because by the time Spider-Man encountered Venom in the comics, Parker himself wasn't a nerdy wus anymore like in the early 60's.
And yet in Spider-Man 3, Peter Parker is the biggest wimp in superhero movie history. No character development at all. |

IF SO
If there are going to be two more, the only way i will see them is if maguire, dunst, and raimi have nothing to do with them... spidey 3 was such a damn letdown |

I LOVE SPIDER-MAN...
I mean obviously look at my joblo member name. I enjoyed all three movies (the first still being my favorite. I thought two was highly overrated but still good. three was good, i did like it) but I would like to see a new spin on Spidey and would welcome new additions to the cast and crew. I would really like Marvel Studios to have their hands in this so Tony Stark/Iron Man, Hulk, any one of the Avengers and/or Nick Fury could show up. But unfortunately, that won't happen. Oh well. Count me in though. I'm interested. |

I wouldn't mind seeing more Spider-Man movies but I would want them only with a completely new cast and director. I think Tobey is over it and Dunst was definately done from the word go. |

3 ARE ENOUGH...
plus I hate tobey's face. he looks like a total idiot. SM 3 was garbage and kirsten dunst, although she looked great in SM 1 as mary jane, she started to look like a drug addict more and more with the second 2 movies. for fucks sake , in SM 2 she was a blonde !!! or something like that. don't destroy the character more than you have already !!!! |
