Next to some real toothy oral sex, my favorite thing in the world has to be torch passing. Nothing gets me going like a good passing of the torch. I remember crying when Peyton passed it to Eli, when Nicholson passed it to Heath, and when the Big Mac passed it to the double Big Mac. Now, comes a solid passing of the torch in the world of action stars and frankly I'm excited.

Sly Stallone, a classic action scion by all accounts, will star in THE EXPENDABLES alongside Jason Statham, the one who many believe has inherited the title of the ultimate modern action hero. He inherited the best qualities of Stallone, Schwarzenegger and Merryl Streep and has molded them into a contemporary gun-toting, hole-plugging, killing machine. Not only that, but Jet Li is in negotiations to star as well. Can someone say torch passing overload?

The film, which was written and is set to be directed by Stallone himself, will follow a team of mercenaries on a mission to overthrow a South American dictator. That means there should be plenty of Latin women with large posteriors involved, as well as a little drug abusing--both essential when shooting an action movie. I like the sound of this thing a lot.

I think there is so much more substance in any single Stallone film from Cop Land to Rambo 4. Stallone didn't make many jokes in his action movies. He was a pretty serious guy, if I remember correctly. Statham's got a ways to go before he can have the charisma and charm that Stallone can bring to the screen without even thinking about cracking a smile. But I think Statham is on his way.

I've always been a hardcore Stallone fan, but not so much of Jason Statham. Sounds great though. Hopefully it won't be too much like Rambo. What would really be great is if Stallone were to grow a thick beard and play the South American dictator. He's proven time and time again he is capable of profound dramatic work, so let's hope this is as great as we all know it can be. After that I hope he...

Sound AWESOME!
But why does this sound like a huge potential plot for a Rambo sequel? I'm totally digging this project. This sounds like a better idea than doing a Rambo sequel, something all new all together could be something special, yet i just cant see how anyone could watch Stallone toting a gun with mercenaries without looking exactly like Rambo.

And by the way, Stallone would be telling ...

Like the Idea, just hope it doesn't overload Stalone in the preping of Rambo 5. This almost feels like a Rambo setting THE EXPENDABLES: AKA RAMBO 5 THE PASSING OF THE TORCH/BOW/KNIFE! But with Jet Li kinda throws it for a loop just funny thats all!
