As previously announced, my longstanding infatuation Kristin Kreuk will be playing the slightly more thick-legged kicker-queen Chun Li in the new live-action STREET FIGHTER movie.

Now she's got some company: man-mountain Michael Clarke Duncan is playing boxer Balrog, "dude" actor Chris Klein will be someone named Nash, and Rick Yune (THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS) is "the mystical Gen."

Also among the cast is exotic fox Moon Bloodgood, Black Eyed Peas singer Taboo, and Hong Kong legend Cheng Pei Pei (CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON). The whole big button-mashing combo-filled videogame punch-up comes from unpronounceable director Andrzej Bartkowiak (DOOM, ROMEO MUST DIE).

I have to ask -- does anyone still have any actual emotional investment in this series (outside of Chun Li/Cammy slashfic, of course)? I can't remember caring about it since arcade machines took quarters instead of tokens or swipe-cards.

Extra Tidbit: Rick Yune replaces Christian Slater as Edward Carnby in the direct-to-vid sequel to ALONE IN THE DARK. Not sure I see the resemblance.

The Photo of her is very attractive. It is difficult to tell if she can be a convincing Chun-Li, as her role on smallville(which i like the show)usually has her playing the victim

Bad cast, bad director. This will probably have a similar tone to that unwatchable DOA movie. It will try to be "fun" but fail.

No Van Damme, no reason to see. I mean, what's next, remaking "Super Mario Brothers?" Yeesh.

Chris Klein as Nash is pretty much the worst casting I have ever heard.

The Hut: It's a reboot, you dumbass. Not a sequel.

I'll wait and see how this is progressing.

I am all for Kristen Kreuk get scantilly clad.
Otherwise, I'd rather watch STREET FIGHTER: THE LATER YEARS on colleghumor. At least THEY don't take it seriously. It's meant to be a joke.

Interesting...but I see this coming out a lot like DoA. I'm curious who convinced someone there was money to be made here.

Painful.

It starts off Kristin Kreuk and I'm like ok sweet. Next we got Michael Clarke Duncan. He's old, but still good news. But, then you got Chris Klein...What the hell? Taboo? Forget about it.
