As much as I love Bryan Singer's work, I kinda wanna see someone else take the reins. I wasn't a fan of the original films (except I loved the way Christopher Reeves played the character) and I liked how Singer's version was more serious but I think there's more. A new movie as opposed to a remake would be a good thing. Keep the same Superman and everything, just new villains. |

After WB got so much shit for every direction they attempted to take before going with Singer's vision, how could they argue with using Donner's template?
Whether or not it was perfect, it was way WAY better than what we almost got. I'm sure Singer's plan was to use what was great about the original films to bring the franchise back to life, and then take it from there. It was a great plan! So I hope he gets the chance to continue.
In my opinion, SR was about as good of a comeback for Supes as I could have hoped for (all things considered). I wasn't crazy about the super kid, or Kate as Lois (as cute as she is). Some of the CGI flying scenes were unnecessary as well. Practical is the way to go with that. But, overall I was very pleased and I would hate to have to start all over. |

NOT A REBOOT, JUST DO SOMETHING FRESH
they don't need to reboot the series just do something fresh. Returns was way to much like the first Superman film, right down to some of the dialogue. Plus what I could not understand is why Lex wanted land to sell when he just got some old lady to leave him a very large fortune...if you are going to use Lex get his reasons for being bad from the comics. Whatever they decide it needs to be new and fresh. Also I liked the new hulk movie. |

They better not reboot it. Returns was great and I'd love to see where Singer takes it. I don't see why the WB would be unhappy with the film, it did better at the box office than Batman Begins.
The Incredible Hulk was a fun film, but way too cartoonish to take seriously. |

STOP WITH THE DONNER VERSION!
I hope that they start fresh. The new Hulk film was awesome and better done than the ang lee version. I hope they do start fresh...if it can work for the Batman it should as hell work for Superman! |

I was actually quite happy with Kate Bosworth's performance. Didn't understand why so many hated her.
While I consider myself a fan of Singer, and enjoyed his homage immensely, I also think his greatest film was "Usual Suspects" (I'm sure many agree), so as long as they maintain the same cast, if they keep Routh & Co. I'm game. |

I think the 270M budget included all conceptions of it, ranging back to Tim Burton and Nic Cage's play-or-play contracts. I don't think Singer's movie itself cost 270M, but included a great deal of the Hollywood drama before it.
That being said, Superman Returns played way too hard to the original Donner flick, flat out ripping off some of it (did we really need to see Superman and Lois fly over Metropolis AGAIN???). Luthor has been done to death, he's been present in every one of the movies, and the primary villain in most.
This isn't Batman where it is more reality based... Superman is a freakin' alien after all! No reason why you can't do Brainiac, Darkseid, Bizarro, or some of the more "out there" villains. |

I didn't hate Returns like others and Routh was perfectly cast...now Bosworth, that's a different story.
And hey! I loved the new Hulk film. |
