SWING VOTE

Most of us around here aren't exactly sure where the Kevin Costner starring dramedy SWING VOTE came from but we recently received the spectacularly generic poster and lots of stills from the film so, you know, that's…good. Under director Joshua Michael Stern, from his own script, in it, Costner stars as a drunk loser whose titular vote will decide the presidential election. Kelsey Grammer, Dennis Hopper, ubiquitous and generally awesome character actor Stanley Tucci, George Lopez, Nathan Lane and the devastatingly gorgeous Paula Patton (seriously, her existence should be illegal) co-star. The deciding vote gets cast on August 1st.

I love Costner, that's why I'll rent this, nothing more.

Nice cast...
Kostner has 100 tons of class, and the trailer looks good: [link]

I'll watch just about anything where Kevin Costner is actually "acting." That includes "3000 Miles to Graceland." The man spent most of his career underplaying to the point where one could question if he's even got talent, that I'm game for anything where he actually plays a "character."

I'm a sucker for anything with Stanley Tucci so I'll likely check it out on a cheap matinee. The premise is pretty outlandish (if not impossible) but it is a Disney flick after all.

Interesting
I've got to tell you, I am not a huge fan of Kevin Costner (don't get me wrong, he's been in some good...no, great movies) but he usually leaves something to be desired in the acting department. Either way, I thought this preview was pretty good. I can imagine myself seeing it. I certainly won't run out to the theater the day it opens, but I'll probably check it out eventually.
