Trailer for high-school reunion dramedy 10 Years with Channing Tatum and Rosario Dawson is surprisingly good

Now, I’m not saying this thing is going to win Oscars, but this trailer for 10 YEARS did win me over when I was expecting to roll my eyes from start to finish.  With an impressive cast and the whole “reunion” theme going for it, this one has certainly got promise, but only if they push it enough to get into that “BEAUTIFUL GIRLS” kind of depth.  Tatum is no longer on my hatorade list after showing some true comedic timing with 21 JUMP STREET and the inclusion of Rosario Dawson, Kate Mara, Aubrey Plaza and Lynn Collins isn’t exactly garlic to my vampire.

Have a look:

Again, the cast sells this thing really well.  Along with the above-mentioned stars, you’ve got Justin Long, Chris Pratt, Max Minghella, Oscar Isaac, Anthonay Mackie, Ron Livingston, Ari Graynor, and Jenna Dewan-Tatum to supplement the film, which is a really healthy round-up. The pic is directed by DEAR JOHN scribe Jamie Linden, so the sappy level may have gone up a few notches.

Here’s the synopsis:

A group of friends reunite ten years after their high-school graduation.

Holy shit, did that just blow your mind or what?  I guess there isn’t much more to say.  Drop some actors in a high-school reunion and see what happens.  Worse things could happen, I suppose, but only if Martin Blank shows up.

10 YEARS shows up to theaters fatter and balder on September 14, 2012.
