My Little Pony ponies up to land Emily Blunt for first full-length feature

Today Hasbro and Lionsgate announced that Emily Blunt has agreed to voice a character in the first full-length animated feature film for the My Little Pony brand, effectively named MY LITTLE PONY THE MOVIE. Who that character is at this point is unknown, but Blunt isn’t the first recognizable outside name to enter into the world of Twilight Sparkle. Kristin Chenowith had already signed on for a voice role earlier in the process. The Mane 6 characters voiced by Tara Strong, Cathy Weseluck, Andrea Libman, Tabitha St. Germain and Ashleigh Ball will be at the center of the film, but when you examine the story MY LITTLE PONY THE MOVIE is aiming to tell, you might be able to take some guesses as to who Blunt could be.

In Hasbro’s MY LITTLE PONY THE MOVIE, a new dark force threatens Ponyville, and the Mane 6 – Twilight Sparkle, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, and Rarity – embark on an unforgettable journey beyond Equestria where they meet new friends and exciting challenges on a quest to use the magic of friendship and save their home.

Does this line Blunt up to play this new dark force that threatens Ponyville, or might she be one of these new friends who helps assist them on this new endeavor? Your guess is as good as mine, but this is really happening… and no, I am not shitting you.

MY LITTLE PONY THE MOVIE is scheduled for a theatrical release on November 3, 2017. Bronies everywhere should be please.
