John Krasinski is in way over his head in first look trailer for Jack Ryan

Amazon has debuted a first look at their new JACK RYAN series starring John Krasinski as the pencil-pushing CIA agent turned turned world class spy. In the trailer we find Krasinski’s unassuming Jack Ryan rousted from his position as a CIA analyst and forced into a battle zone where he's made to deal with bombs, fanatical soldiers, and threats of a magnitude for which he is not prepared.

Krasinski is the latest in a long line of actors to portray the Jack Ryan character. In the past, notable actors the likes of Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford, Chris Pine and Ben Affleck have each lent their talents to representing the political action icon on screen. When Amazon's latest incarnation of the character premieres, Abbie Cornish, Wendell Pierce and Ali Suliman will also star for all the action, intrigue, and onslaught of improbable scenarios.

Recently, the show was picked up for a second season ahead of its Amazon debut. When Season 2 begins, it's said that the show will pick up after audience members have been shown just how dangerous Ryan's field work can become with the character confronting a declining democratic regime in South America. The creators of the series, executive producers Carlton Cuse and Graham Roland, will continue to serve as co-showrunners for Season 2.

Each season will consist of eight episodes a piece, with the first to make its Amazon Prime Video bow on August 31st. In recent times, Krasinski has received an impressive amount of praise for directing, co-writing, and starring in A QUIET PLACE, the surprise thriller that grossed over $200 million at the worldwide box office. In the past, THE OFFICE alum has demonstrated that he's a man of many talents. Here's hoping that JACK RYAN is yet another home run for the charismatic actor, and that fans of the Tom Clancy series can look forward to lots more from the franchise.
