It will hit Blu-ray on January 9 & digital December 19

What more can be said about IT? Biggest horror movie ever; beloved by audiences and critics. There was a ton of hype behind it, and it lived up to all of it. People who have seen and loved it are probably dying to know when the movie hits digital and Blu-ray, and those people are so lucky they have me because that’s the news I’m here to bring you.

Per a press release from Warner Bros., the smash-hit horror flick will arrive on Blu-ray January 9 and will hit digital a few weeks before that on December 19. With the release came images of the movie’s box art, which you get a look at and embiggen below!

As well, here is a list of special features that will come on the Blu-ray and special two-disc DVD, featuring a look into how Bill Skarsgard crafted Pennywise, and a look at how the Loser’s Club bonded on set:

  • Pennywise Lives! –  Discover how Bill Skarsgård prepared to portray the primordial creature known as Pennywise the Dancing Clown
  • The Losers’ Club – Get up close and personal with the teenage stars of IT as they bond together during the production,
  • Author of Fear – Stephen King reveals the roots of his best-selling novel, the nature of childhood fear and how he created his most famous monster, Pennywise
  • Deleted Scenes – Eleven deleted or extended scenes from the film

This is a Blu-ray I will certainly buy, even though there aren't a ton of special features. I have no idea if one of those deleted scenes includes the much-talked-about scrapped intro, which supposedly took place in the 1600s and showed Pennywise munching on a baby. Maybe we'll have to wait for the sequel to see that (if we do at all), but no matter what, IT will be a must-get for anyone who enjoyed the film, and it should hold us over until the sequel arrives in September 2019.

IT hits Blu-ray January 9 and on Digital December 19.
