Top 10 Worst Movies of 2017

Transformers and transvestites…mummies and McConaughey…Xander Cage, yellow emojis and zombies…all of them have come together for one common purpose: to fill out the list of the Top 10 Worst Movies of 2017! Awfully Good Movies has once again polled you JoBlo readers on what was the worst movie you’ve had to sit through in the past year, and the ten movies which won the top spots are wildly diverse indeed. Some of them are sixth installments of franchises that never needed to go past one movie, while some are sequels to movies that should have had its sequel come out long ago…and yet both these movies costar Ruby Rose. Two of the movies had to perform extensive and expensive reshoots, while two other movies have helped continue the epic losing streak of Sony Pictures—and no, SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING does not count, because Marvel Studios saved their asses on that franchise. But all of these movies are the same in one regard: They’re pretty goddamn bad.

Hopefully, their inclusion on this list will send a message to Hollywood about what paying audiences want from a night at the theater…and let them know they need to cut out this “cinematic universe” bullshit. I mean, you’re seriously putting logos in front of movies declaring the start of a cinematic universe, before we even see if the first movie does well enough for a sequel? The fuck, Universal? You deserve to have lost every penny you spent on that goddamn MUMMY remake.
