Antonio Banderas can’t outrun a shotgun in exclusive Black Butterfly clip

The upcoming thriller BLACK BUTTERFLY with Antonio Banderas and Jonathan Rhys Meyers is one of those films that remind you why you should never let strangers crash on your couch. Aside from the fact they’ll claim squatter’s rights, they also may or may not be clinically insane. You can see evidence of that below in this exclusive clip for the movie which shows Meyers pulling a shotgun out on Banderas when he’s just trying to go to the movies with his girlfriend (Piper Perabo). Okay, he may be trying to escape, but still it’s an over- exaggeration on Meyers’ part.

Here is a plot synopsis:

Outside a mountain town grappling with a series of abductions and murders, Paul (Antonio Banderas), a reclusive writer, struggles to start what he hopes will be a career-saving screenplay. After a tense encounter at a diner with a drifter named Jack (Jonathan Rhys Meyers), Paul offers Jack a place to stay-and soon the edgy, demanding Jack muscles his way into Paul's work. As a storm cuts off power to the isolated cabin, the two men begin a jagged game of one-upmanship that will bring at least one tale to an end

The film looks like it could be a fun little home invasion-type thriller, and Meyers looks like he's going to be absolutely insane as the antagonist. That could be refreshing to anyone who's tired of villains trying to be all eerie and quiet. Banderas looks like he's gonna have his hands full in this one. If anyone can stop Meyers, it's El Mariachi.

BLACK BUTTERFLY arrives May 26.
