Black Panther set to arrive on digital and Blu-ray next month

BLACK PANTHER has been in theaters for about two months, and it feels like we’re still at the peak of its mania. The movie has just passed TITANIC at the box office and stands as the third-largest movie ever at the domestic box office (number 10 worldwide with $1.3 billion). The movie’s legs have proven long and powerful, and it could probably keep going if it was left in theaters for a bit longer. But Marvel seems keen on getting this out of the theaters and on to your phones and TVs, and in about a month you can officially bring Wakanda home on digital and Blu-ray.

Per a trailer announcement yesterday, BLACK PANTHER will be hitting digital platforms on May 8, and then on Blu-ray about a week later on May 15. That puts its home release less than three months after the movie hit theaters, and this could be because Marvel will be trying to capitalize on the buzz AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR will generate. Not like this movie needs any sort of marketing boost.

This is a must own for anyone who has all the other Marvel movies, but this one has clearly transcended the Marvel norm. This Blu-ray will most likely be a massive seller, epsecially as INFINITY WAR is making everyone excited for everythng Marvel. I don't know about you guys, but I'm gonna start queing up at my local video store now so I can be the first one to get my copy! What's that? No one does that anymore? I can just have a drone deliver it? Oh, well, to the future!
