Tropic Thunder’s Brandon T. Jackson will be the son of Axel Foley for Beverly Hills Cop TV show

Remember that television adaptation/reboot of BEVERLY HILLS COP? Well, they finally found the guy to play Axel Foley’s son, Aaron.

I can’t say I told you so, but I knew that they would choose Brandon T. Jackson.

The show focuses on Aaron, “a blue-collar police officer, the younger Foley works to take down the criminal elements of the rich and famous, while trying to escape from under his father’s long shadow.” Foley himself, Eddie Murphy will pop up in the pilot and throughout the show’s run on occasion. Depending on how long the show actually runs.

Creator of THE SHIELD, Shawn Ryan will produce with Marney Hochman and Murphy. Ryan will write the pilot episode serve as showrunner.

Jackson who we should all know by his rapper name in TROPIC THUNDER, Alpa Chino was in other movies like ROLL BOUNCE, PERCY JACKSON & THE OLYMPIANS, as well as BIG MOMMAS: LIKE FATHER, LIKE SON, but I don’t give a two craps about those. So how did I guess that Jackson would get it? Because his role in TROPIC THUNDER makes me think of a younger Murphy, plus I have psychic powers or something.

Not sure when the show will debut, but when it does it will be on CBS.
