The Conjuring spinoff Annabelle is set to haunt your dreams this October

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Someone somewhere decided that they don’t want people to sleep, and thus, Annabelle the Doll was born. Kicking off THE CONJURING with a bang, Annabelle was one of the most talked about factors of the moderately praised horror flick. That’s no small feat, given what we have to work with these days! Announcement of a CONJURING sequel and spin-off weren’t too far behind, October 3, 2014.

The plot is shrouded in J.J. Abrams-esque secrecy, but given the events of THE CONJURING and the fact that Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson are not involved with this spin-off, we can surmise that it will be a prequel of sorts and that it will most likely detail what other creepster activities Annabelle has been up to. The director of this piece will be the man who served as cinematographer on THE CONJURING, John R. Leonetti. I have no doubts he is fully qualified for the job, although given his directorial comedy debut of a lifetime in MORTAL KOMBAT: ANNIHILATION, I’m not about to get my hopes up (for a horror film).

ANNABELLE, starring Annabelle (!!!) Wallis, Alfre Woodard, Ward Horton, and Brian Howe, will creep its way into theaters on October 3, 2014.

This is pretty much how my roommate and I greet each other every morning.
