The Russo Brothers say they’re open to working with Marvel beyond Avengers 4

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Until now, the fate of The Russo Brothers remaining in the Marvel movie making business was uncertain. Though recently, while participating in an interview with the hosts of MTV's Happy Sad Confused podcast, Joe and Anthony Russo jointly stated that they're open to working with Marvel beyond the climax of AVENGERS 4. For those of us who're fans of the familial dynamic duo, this is terrific news indeed!

"Our relationship with Marvel has been one of the strongest creative relationships we've had in our careers," Anthony Russo said on the podcast. "We're really proud of the movies we've been able to make with them and we've had an amazing time doing it. We haven't talked about doing anything beyond these two movies simply because we still have a mountain to climb with these two films." Woof, I can't even begin to imagine the amount of work that goes into the making of a movie like AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR, or it's sequel for that matter.

As their talk continued, Anthony began speaking about how he thinks the Marvel films function like a well-oiled machine by saying, "Even though they're building an interconnected narrative through many, many films over many years, they have a very disciplined one movie at a time attitude, as well," he said. "We would certainly be open to working with them."

What do you think will be next for Joe and Anthony Russo after the close of AVENGERS 4? What do you suspect they're hiding about the finale of AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR? My money is on the fourth Avenger's movie being titled AVENGERS: SECRET INVASION. I think the Skrulls are going to get involved by the end of Infinity War, and all hell is going to break loose. Think about it, if the Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck-directed CAPTAIN MARVEL acts as our proper introduction to the shape-shifting Skrull race, why not stage a full-scale invasion for the next big Avengers film? These are just my thoughts, so take them for what you will, but yeah buddy!

Let us know which Marvel chacters you'd like to see the Russo Brothers tackle in the comments section below. And hold tight for when AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR opens in theaters on May 4th.
