Marvel’s mightiest heroes assemble in new Avengers: Infinity War images

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

With the theatrical debut of Marvel's AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR a mere 50 days away, the studio appears to have activated the Overdrive function on the film's hype machine. Earlier today, Entertainment Weekly shared a series of dynamic Infinity War-related covers for the latest issue of their magazine, and now, a selection of enticing new photos from the upcoming film have reached the masses.

In the following photos, fans will catch a first glimpse at some of the massive moments set to play out when AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR explodes onto screens beginning on April 27th.

In the first photo shared by EW, we find The Mad Titan, Thanos, using the purple and blue Infinity Stones to pull a moon out of its orbit, possibly to pummel the planet of Xandar, birthplace of the Nova Corp. However, according to EW, the following show actually features Thanos throwing a temper tantrum on his home planet, Titan.

With so many heroes set to appear in AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR, it's easy to understand why directors Joe and Anthony Russo would want to split the majority of them into teams, as a part of their strategy to fight the oncoming hordes. In the photo shown below, we find Robert Downey Jr.'s Iron Man teamed up with Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), his warrior-companion Wong (Benedict Wong), as well as Mark Ruffalo's Bruce Banner. Each of them look to be poised and ready for action, though will their combined might be enough to save New York City from Thanos' Black Order?

Next we find Don Cheadle's Col. Rhodes sporting a pair of tailor-made leg braces, which the men and women at Stark Tech help will put him back in the fight. Standing to his left are Chris Evans' Captain America in all of his bearded glory, and Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow, who've been running from nefarious government forces since the close of CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR.

In the next photo we discover a rather fated meeting of the minds with BLACK PANTHER's Shuri (Letitia Wright) giving Elizabeth Olsen's Scarlet Witch and Ruffalo's Banner a "What you talkin' bout, Willis?" sort of glare.

Those looking forward to seeing more of Tom Holland's Spider-Man in the film will have to look no further than this cool photo of Holland's Parker striking a stylish pose while riding an ordinary school bus.

Loki (Tom Hiddleston) looks as if he's gotten himself into a bit of mischief in this photo. Perhaps he's calculating the amount of time he has left before delivering the unfortunate news to Thanos that he was unable to obtain the blue Space Stone for the Mad Titan. Oh, and he also lost the staff that contained the yellow Infinity Stone (now belonging to Paul Bettany's The Vision). So … yeah, Loki might be in some pretty deep shit by the time we catch up with him for Marvel's latest adventure.

Here was have a one-eyed Thor (Chris Hemsworth) riding along with Rocket and a teen Groot, no doubt heading toward an absurd amount of danger.

Now that the Wakandian cat is out of the bag, so to speak, we find Chadwick Boseman's T'Challah preparing to fight alongside Winston Duke's M'Baku, one of the standout characters from Marvel's latest blockbuster smash. Also pictured in the photo are Captain America and  Stan's Winter Soldier (otherwise known as White Wolf) who're standing by to assist in the king's every battle command.
