Ben Affleck Live By Night

If you told me a decade ago that I'd not only be looking forward to film starring Ben Affleck but that Affleck also directed said film, I'd probably scoff and go back to doing whatever the hell it was that I was doing a decade ago, which was likely…nothing. After GONE BABY GONE, THE TOWN and ARGO, Ben Affleck has more than earned my attention, both in regards to his work in front of and behind the camera. The first teaser trailer for LIVE BY NIGHT has been released and it looks as though it has the potential to be Ben Affleck's best work to date.

"Breaking the rules meant nothing, you had to be strong enough to make your own."

Looks great, sounds great and damn, what a cast; in addition to Ben Affleck, LIVE BY NIGHT includes the talents of Zoë Saldana, Sienna Miller, Chris Cooper, Brendan Gleeson, Titus Welliver, Elle Fanning, Chris Messina and more. Wrap all that up in a Prohibition era gangster story and I'm quickly wishing we could skip ahead to January already.

An official synopsis for LIVE BY NIGHT:

By 1926, Prohibition in the United States had given rise to an endless network of underground distilleries, speakeasies, gangsters, and corrupt cops. Joe Coughlin, the youngest son of a prominent Boston police captain, defies his proper upbringing by climbing a ladder of organized crime that takes him from Boston to Ybor City, Florida, to Havana, Cuba, where he encounters a dangerous cast of characters who are all fighting for their piece of the American dream.

LIVE BY NIGHT is set for a January 13, 2017 release.
