Michelle MacLaren to helm Cowboy Ninja Viking starring Chris Pratt

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

GAME OF THRONES director Michelle MacLaren has signed on to direct an adaptation of COWBOY NINJA VIKING starring Chris Pratt for Universal. The project is based on the Image Comics-published series of the same name from writer A.J. Lieberman and illustrator Riley Rossmo.

Craig Mazin (IDENTITY THIEF, THE HUNTSMAN: WINTER'S WAR), will pen the script for a tale that tells of a counter-intelligence unit that uses multiple personality disorder patients to create agents known as Triplets, referring to the three personalities the killers have. When the agents become rogue hired guns, the deadliest Triplet of them all, Cowboy Ninja Viking, is called in to take down his own brethren.

Entertainment 360, the production arm of Management 360 will produce alongside Mark Gordon via The Mark Gordon Co., Michael De Luca by way of his Michael De Luca Productions, and Chris Pratt.

MacLaren is a huge get for the comic-to-screen venture, whose directing credits include episodes of WESTWORLD, THE LEFTOVERS, THE WALKING DEAD, THE DEUCE, BREAKING BAD, and of course, GAME OF THRONES.

I'll shoot straight with you, right now. COWBOY NINJA VIKING is quite the batshit crazy comic book series. If approached with a lust for violence and over-the-top action sequences, we could be looking at a bloody good time with this one. The comic book series is complete, and you can purchase it for yourself, right now. Happy reading!

COWBOY NINJA VIKING has been set for a June 28, 2019, release
