NBC unveals trailer for the Love Actually reunion set to air on Red Nose Day

Today, NBC has unveiled a star-studded trailer for the LOVE ACTUALLY reunion, which the network will air during their Red Nose Day Special in May of this year. For those of you who aren't aware of Red Nose Day is, here's an explanation I'd found on the fundraiser campaign's official website:

Red Nose Day is a fundraising campaign run by the non-profit organization Comic Relief Inc., a registered 501(c)(3) public charity. Red Nose Day has raised over $1 billion globally in the last 25 years, and in the UK has become a cultural phenomenon where people across the country come together to have fun, raise money and change lives. Red Nose Day launched in the U.S. in 2015, dedicated to raising money to help children who are most in need, both in the U.S. and in some of the poorest communities in the world. The money raised by Red Nose Day in 2015 benefited children and young people in all 50 states and in 15 countries internationally.

Wow! That all sounds pretty amazing, actually. The above clip features several returning cast members from the 2003 romantic comedy including Andrew Lincoln, Keira Knightley, Hugh Grant Martine McCutcheon, Colin Firth, Lucia Moniz, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Olivia Olson, Bill Nighy, Marcus Brigstocke, Rowan Atkinson and Liam Neeson . From what I can gather (I've never seen LOVE ACTUALLY), the trailer was inspired by a pivotal scene in which Andrew Lincoln's character Mark avows his love for Juliet (Knightley’s character, who happens to be his best friend’s wife) with the use of poster boards. Do I have this right? I sure hope so. The montage gets a tad goofy when Knightley proposes the question of who among the cast have aged the most gracefully. 

To date, Red Nose Day has raised more than $60 million in its first two years since launching in the U.S. in 2015 in an effort to collect money and promote awareness to help children living in poverty in America and around the world.

The short film will air May 25 on NBC as part of The Red Nose Day Special and March 24’s Red Nose Day in the UK on BBC1.
