Will Arnold Schwarzenegger lead a new Conan trilogy?

What’s better than one CONAN movie? Three!

When Paradox Entertainment obtained the rights to CONAN THE BARBARIAN, we already knew that THE LEGEND OF CONAN starring Arnold Schwarzenegger was coming. Now there’s a chance of a whole new trilogy if things go well. Fredrik Malmberg, CEO of Paradox Entertainment laid it out:

“We have a great story. This is a role that’s perfect for [Arnold] and he’s very involved with the whole Universal team. Arnold has been very instrumental to bringing this together saying, ‘We gotta make a good Conan!’ I think if we do this right, we can do two more Conan movies right after. I think Game Of Thrones also shows a huge interest in fantasy. I’m psyched about it.”

At 65 years old, Schwarzenegger will be taking on the role of a much older Conan but what are the details on his return?

“The idea is that this takes place after Conan has been king. But this is the legend of Conan where he has been gone and people say, ‘Do you remember the good ol’ days when Conan was around?’ And now it’s time for him to come back.”

I think Schwarzenegger is in great shape as evidence by his latest roles in THE LAST STAND and TEN. Will he be in all three flicks? It’s possible, though I think they will use this as an opportunity to hand the franchise over to Conan’s son, Conn.
