We Talk Hotel Artemis with Jodie Foster, Dave Bautista, Charlie Day & More!

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Over the past couple of years we’ve seen a few exciting and innovative science fiction features heading to the big screen. This weekend, we have yet another cool flick to add to the list. HOTEL ARTEMIS is an intense sci-fi tale with an incredible cast that includes Jodie Foster, Sofia Boutella, Dave Bautista, Jeff Goldblum, Sterling K. Brown, Jenny Slate, Zachary Quinto, Charlie Day, Brian Tyree Henry and a few others. It’s a smart, sleek and brutal tale that offers a fresh take on a familiar idea for those of you looking for something original.

When you sit across from the incomparable Jodie Foster and Dave Bautista, it’s an intense feeling in a  number of ways. However, the fact that they are both so kind and down-to-earth, you quickly feel comfortable. Ms. Foster talked about wanting to play this role, and about the level of difficulty when it came to changing her physical appearance. As for Mr. Bautista, he opened up about working with his talented co-star, and balancing playing in the Marvel Universe and shifting into something like this or BLADE RUNNER 2049.

HOTEL ARTEMIS has a number of intriguing visitors with secrets, and two of those characters are played by Charlie Day and Sofia Boutella. For Mr. Day, this is a very different kind of role for the actor and he discussed that particular aspect of the film. Sofia, who plays a badass beautifully, talked about how the one time dancer unexpectedly has became a modern day action star.

Sterling K. Brown and Brian Tyree Henry have both found success on the small screen. Brown has found fame courtesy of his terrific work on the hit series This is Us. And you can find Brian's amazing work on the acclaimed series Atlanta. The two talked about tackling a film with the kind of intense action sequences that you can find at this seedy criminal hotel in Los Angeles.

And finally, we sat down with the man behind this inventively cool feature. Drew Pearce may already be a familiar name to many of you thanks to his writing credits including MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: ROGUE NATION and IRON MAN 3. HIs latest was something he had been working on for awhile, and what an auspicious feature film directorial debut it is. And how did he got Jodie Foster on board? Well, that would be a dream come true for any filmmaker to land her as a lead in your first feature. That is why his story is even cooler than you’d expect.

Make sure you check in to HOTEL ARTEMIS this weekend at a theatre near you.
