Jack O’Connell, Chloe Moretz, Josh Gad to star in Party of the Century

Back on November 28, 1966, author Truman Capote hosted a lavish Black and White Ball, a masquerade that was orchestrated as a way of honoring Washington Post publisher Katharine Graham. It was the first time that Capote was able to host a party of such storied magnitude, after his non-fiction novel, In Cold Blood, became a literary smash hit. According to his friends, Capote's parties were the stuff of legend, and now, it looks as if Jack O’Connell, Chloe Moretz, and Josh Gad are about to invite everyone to join in the elaborate fun in the forthcoming film entitled PARTY OF THE CENTURY. 

In the movie, Josh Gad will set into the role of Truman Capote, for directors Robert Pulcini and Shari Springer Berman. PARTY OF THE CENTURY is expected to begin filming later this year in New York City with Tim Perell producing through his Process Media banner. As far as we know, the film is meant to be framed as an unexpected love story between O'Connell's working-class elevator operator and Moretz's Hollywood newcomer characters.

Originally, the ball was held at the Plaza Hotel in New York City, where only the finest of Capote's associated were invited to join in the festivities. It's been said that Capote has purchased a black-and-white composition book which he then used to compile a guest list with the help of his friend Elenor Friede. Capote supposedly carried the book everywhere he went for upward of three months, constantly adding and deleting names as the celebration clock counted down.

 Pulcini and Springer Berman jointly spoke about the project, stating that, “Our film is a delicate balance of worlds converging at a pivotal moment in time.  Jack, Chloe and Josh are brilliant performers who can embody these worlds while bringing the electricity and pathos required to make the story fly.”

Filming for PARTY OF THE CENTURY is expected to begin shooting later this year in New York. For the moment, you can catch Josh Gad as LaFou in Disney's live-action version of BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, in theaters now.
