Adam Cooper and Bill Collage to do a rewrite on Assassin’s Creed

While it’s still up in the air on whether Daniel Espinosa will direct or not, it looks like another draft of the ASSASSIN’S CREED script is being commissioned.

The writing duo of Adam Cooper and Bill Collage will take over penning duties on the video game adaptation. Those may not be names that you know right off the bat, but they’ve been around since 2004. Their credits include ACCEPTANCE and TOWER HEIST, so it’s interesting that they would be considered for something like this.

Word has it that their original draft for Ridley Scott’s EXODUS: GODS AND KINGS starring Christian Bale was a good one. They also recently finished a draft for Darren Aronofsky’s George Washington bio, THE GENERAL. Sometimes you gotta write some not so great stuff to get to the good stuff.

For those in the dark about all things ASSASSIN’S CREED, here’s a brief summary: A man learns his ancestors were trained assassins after he is kidnapped by a secret organization with ties to the Knights Templar and is sent back in time to retrieve historical artifacts.

I’m thinking that Cooper and Collage might make this a film worthy of Michael Fassbender’s talents. The game is good, and the fans of it deserve something quality.
