Deadpool is drenched in bullets on new Deadpool 2 poster

Being Deadpool has its perks, among them, being able to regenerate limbs, take a bullet in the ass without it affecting normal bodily functions, and being able to bake the world’s best chocolate chip cookies (I assume). But his most cherished quality is being the king of meta-humor, and that is best exemplified in the newest poster for DEADPOOL 2, which spoofs an 80s classic.

Ryan Reynolds posted the new poster on Twitter this morning showing Deadpool doing his best Jennifer Beals impersonation from the movie FLASHDANCE, in which she arches herself on a chair and lets the rain shower wash over her. Deadpool ups the ante with a bullet shower, and I defy you to say it isn’t sexier.

The movie was supposed to come out June 1, but the new poster shows the new release date of May 18. The release was bumped up not too long ago and it will now come out two weeks after the massive AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR and one week before SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY. Deadpool may need a sexier dance to overcome all that Disney power.

When it comes to the marketing of DEADPOOL 2 no one should expect anything less than these sort of spoof posters. The previous poster brought back characters old and new (including Josh Brolin as Cable and Zazie Beetz as Domino) for a lampoon on a famous Norman Rockwell painting, so naturally, FLASHDANCE was the next logical step. The movie didn't air a spot during the Super Bowl, but it could drop a new trailer in the coming weeks as promotion ramps up. We should all prepare for a spoof of TOP GUN.
