It's an undeniable fact that premiere streaming services like Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime Video are a fantastic venue for new and exciting television series to showcase their entertaining offerings to the masses, and today, we've got a trailer for yet another Netflix original comedy coming at cha! Loosely based on Sophia Amoruso's autobiography #Girlboss, a new Netflix original comedy series of the same name (minus the obnoxious hashtag) starring Britt Robertson will premiere on April 21, 2017.
The 13-episode series centers on Amoruso (Robertson) who started out selling vintage clothes on eBay and, by the age of 27, had built the multi-million dollar fashion empire, Nasty Gal. The comedy is being written and produced by PITCH PERFECT scribe Kay Cannon and will be directed by Christian Ditter. What's even cool is that GIRLBOSS is being headed up by Charlize Theron's production company Denver & Delilah. Theron, Laverne McKinnon and Beth Kono of Denver & Delilah, Christian Ditter and Sophia Amoruso will also act as executive producers.
I am totally not afraid to admit that I'd like to check this out. It looks like a fun, airy comedy, and after the past few grueling weeks that I've had while moving to Canada, I could use something non-taxing and light-hearted to watch. Plus, Robertson's Amoruso totally reminds me of a friend of mine and I'd like to heckle her with comparison comments – it will drive her insane. Mwuahaha!
GIRLBOSS premieres Friday, April 21 on Netflix.
