Every Game of Thrones season eight episode might be feature-length

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

So there’s only two seasons left of HBO’s seminal fantasy show GAME OF THRONES, and there’s still a lot to clear up. Who will sit atop the Iron Throne? How will Westeros greet Daenerys? What the fuck happened to Gendry? To top it all off, the seasons are actually shorter now, with season 7 only being seven episodes long, and season 8 reportedly only being six.

Well, there might be some hope. For one, the season 7 finale is said to be about 82 minutes (or, in other words, as long as
– an admittedly short – feature film), and secondly, it also seems that every episode in season 8 could potentially all be feature-length. Apparently Paula Fairfield – sound designer on GAME OF THRONES – let that tidbit slip during a panel at Con of Thrones:

Obviously, with the next season potentially not premiering until 2019, there’s still a lot up in the air. But the fact they’re even considering it is interesting news. I for one would love to get as much GAME OF THRONES as I can before it inevitably ends.

So what do you Schmoes think? Would you be down for longer episodes? Either way, sound off below!

Meanwhile, Winter is finally coming to Westeros on HBO July 16th!
