Blunt & Johnson host announcement teaser for Disney’s Jungle Cruise

After starring as Spencer / Dr. Smolder Bravestone for Sony's record-smashing box office adventure, JUMANJI: WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE, Dwayne Johnson is preparing to venture back into the labyrinthine overgrowth with Disney's JUNGLE CRUISE. Starring alongside Hollywood's favorite badass for the House of Mouse's upcoming trip through a not-so-tranquil wilderness is A QUIET PLACE and MARY POPPINS RETURNS alum Emily Blunt. Together, the dynamic duo are gearing up for the unkown, as the latest live-action thrill ride based on a Disney attraction plans to set sail.

Today, Disney has released an adorable teaser for JUNGLE CRUISE hosted by Blunt, who is then upstaged by a playful Dwayne Johnson. It's all fun and games, of course, though that doesn't keep Blunt from giving Johnson's chiseled gluteus maximus a quick squeeze. The energy of the teaser is great, in my opinion, as both actors are already displaying a great chemistry with one another, despite how brief the footage might be.

As you are likely aware, Disney's JUNGLE CRUISE is based on Disneyland's theme park ride where a small riverboat takes a group of travelers through a jungle filled with dangerous animals and reptiles, but with a supernatural element. The film is being helmed by Jaume Collet-Serra (THE SHALLOWS, ORPHAN, HOUSE OF WAX), from a screenplay penned by Glenn Ficarra, Michael Green, and John Requa. Climbing aboard to join the cast beside Johnson and Blunt are Jesse Plemons (BLACK MASS, GAME NIGHT), Edgar Ramirez (DELIVER US FROM EVIL, GOLD), Paul Giamatti (CINDERELLA MAN, 12 YEARS A SLAVE), Andy Nyman (TV's PEAKY BLINDERS, DEATH AT A FUNERAL), and Jack Whitehall (TV's BAD EDUCATION).

Early word from Disney has the studio aiming to make JUNGLE CRUISE a fast-paced, family-friendly experience at the cinema, with plenty of humor, heroism, and animal-related danger to keep theatergoers at the edge of their seats.

JUNGLE CRUISE will set sail in theaters October 11, 2019.
