The Lego Ninjago Movie unleashes a mighty teaser trailer

Yesterday, Warner Bros. treated fans of the mega-popular LEGO Ninjago toy line to some sweet images from the upcoming animated film. Today, we’ve got a brand-new teaser trailer to help get you in fighting shape for when this animated comedy builds itself to life on the big screen come September 22, 2017!

Additionally, we’ve got some more plot details for you as well. Here’s the synopsis for the film as per the official press release from Warner Bros.:

In this big-screen NINJAGO adventure, the battle for NINJAGO City calls to action young Master Builder Lloyd, aka the Green Ninja, along with his friends, who are all secret ninja warriors. Led by Master Wu, as wise-cracking as he is wise, they must defeat evil warlord Garmadon, The Worst Guy Ever, who also happens to be Lloyd’s dad. Pitting mech against mech and father against son, the epic showdown will test this fierce but undisciplined team of modern-day ninjas who must learn to check their egos and pull together to unleash their inner power of Spinjitzu.

I don’t know about you, but that all sounds pretty excellent to me. With the release of THE LEGO BATMAN MOVIE merely days away, one can assume that we’ll be hearing about more upcoming LEGO-related projects destined for the silver screen in the years to come. I mean, it’s all in the formula, right? These films are chock-full of laughs, come with valuable lessons to be taught to younger viewers, and hit that nostalgic sweet spot for adults. It’s a remarkable combination that I hope to see do very well as other offshoots of the LEGO brand are inevitably and cinematically explored down the line.

Check out the awesome, new teaser trailer below and be sure to tune in tomorrow for when the full trailer is unveiled!

THE LEGO NINJAGO MOVIE starring Dave Franco, Justin Theroux, Fred Armisen, Abbi Jacobson, Olivia Munn, Kumail Nanjiani, Michael Peña, Zach Woods, and the legendary Jackie Chan will kick and punch its way into theaters on September 22, 2017!
