Game of Thrones to officially return in 2019 for eighth and final season

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

It's all happening, folks! HBO has confirmed that the eighth and final season of GAME OF THRONES will air in 2019!

Furthermore, the premiere cable network also revealed that series creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss will be among those directing episodes for the new season alongside David Nutter and Miguel Sapochnik. In the past, Sapochnik has been the man behind the camera for what many consider to be among the best episodes in the series including: Season 5’s Hardhome and Season 6’s Battle of the Bastards. Meanwhile, Nutter's shot six episodes in the series including: Season 5's Mother Mercy, the infamous episode that features Cersei's humiliating walk of atonement. As previously reported, the final season of the show will consist of just six episodes.

I know, I know. Trust me, I feel your pain.

How do you think the series will end? Will you miss it? Are you looking forward to learning more about the planned spinoff shows? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
