Hold tight! The Spice Girls are planning an animated superhero movie!

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Every boy and every girl, it's time to spice up your life with a bit of unorthodox animation news! This afternoon, we've learned that an animated film project starring the Spice Girls is currently being shopped around to potential production investors. Hai Si Ja, hold tight, because there's more! According to a source that's close to the project, in addition to each member of the high-energy Brit-pop group signing off on their likenesses being used for the animation, the ferocious five will also provide the voices of each character.

That's right, first  Victoria Beckham (“Posh Spice”), Melanie Brown (“Scary Spice”), Emma Bunton (“Baby Spice”), Melanie Chisholm (“Sporty Spice”) and Geri Halliwell (“Ginger Spice”) came at us with their 1997 madcap comedy, SPICE WORLD, and now they're poised to invade the animated screen! Just when you'd thought they'd given you everything, think of all the joy this will bring, this I swear.

News of the Spice Girls animated film project follows closely on the elevated heels of rumors that the "positivity first" pop group is planning an in-demand reunion tour. As for the animation, the film will evidently feature the five ladies as superheroes looking to fight the good fight and spread their message of "girl power" across the globe.

While a Spice Girls reunion tour is far from becoming a real thing just yet, the animated film project is without a doubt going to happen. In fact, a source close to the project says that the girls are “fired up about the idea." And in regard to the trajectory of their career as a group, a source who's close to the band has stated that “The Spice Girls are thinking big in terms of a franchise on a global scale. They’re the most successful girl group on the planet. It’s just what Marvel or Disney needs.”

So tell us what you want, what you really, really want in the comments section below. Are you still a fan of the Spice Girls? Are you prepared for the group to punch and kick their way into the superhero scene? I'll tell you what I want, what I really, really want. I wanna, (ha) I wanna, (ha) I wanna, (ha) I wanna, (ha) I wanna really, really, really wanna fit as many Spice Girls references into this article as I can … zigazig ah!
