Trailer for Deepwater Horizon builds up the tension

Based on the true story of the offshore drilling rig of the same name that exploded and set forth the greatest oil spill in U.S. history, Peter Berg‘s film already has me on edge. This trailer builds up the tension ever so carefully, intercutting between two very different settings that, when juxtaposed against each other, work so well in tandem. The quaintness of home laid out against the rough situation to come on the job leaves you breathless, and, even with the information out there about what happened on this rig, for the film to make it feel dramatic and leave you uncertain as to what will transpire next… that’s something special right there.

DEEPWATER HORIZON hits theaters on September 30.
