CBS’ reboot of L.A. Confidential to star Walton Goggins

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

If you're having trouble keeping up with the vast amount of television reboots, you're not alone, as I'd actually completely forgotten that CBS was developing their own take on L.A. CONFIDENTIAL. I wasn't expecting to be all that interested in the series, but with one move, the network has all but guarenteed my future interest as it has now been announced that the fantastic Walton Goggins will be starring in the pilot.

I've loved Walton Goggins in just about everything, from TV shows such as The Shield and Justified, and movies like THE HATEFUL EIGHT and LINCOLN, and knowing that he'll be bringing his absurdly pearly-white chompers to L.A. Confidential to very welcome news indeed. The potential new series will follow the paths of three homicide detectives, a female reporter, and an up-and-coming actress intersect while the detectives pursue a sadistic serial killer among the secrets and lies of glamorous and gritty 1950s Los Angeles. Walton Goggins will play Detective Jack Vincennes, the same role played by Kevin Spacey in Curtis Hanson's 1997 film, who is described as "all swagger and flash with a movie star smile. He knows how the system works and uses it to his best advantage, including some corrupt shakedowns on the side." Certainly sounds like a role Goggins will be able to wrap his teeth around.

Walton Goggins has several high-profile projects on the horizon, including TOMB RAIDER on March 16, 2018 and ANT-MAN AND THE WASP on July 6, 2018.
