Angels and demons throw down in official trailer for NBC’s Constantine

Fans seemed pretty happy when the first image of Matt Ryan as John Constantine popped up online back in March.  While I was overall fairly satisfied with the Keanu Reeves flick, it looks like the series is set to deliver something a little more in line with the comic (at the very least, with its lead character's design).  Constantine is set to debut this fall on NBC, but you can catch the official trailer for the Hellblazer TV series right now!  If demons, exercisms, creepy crawlies, lots of fire and incantations are your thing, then what are you waiting for?!?

Check it out:

TV shows can't generally keep up with the budgets of thier cinematic counterparts, but color me impressed with what NBC is throwing our way.  Neil Marshall (CENTURION, THE DESCENT) has directed the pilot penned by David Goyer (THE DARK KNIGHT, MAN OF STEEL), and their style seems to fit the occultist detective like a glove.  With Agent Carter and a second season of S.H.I.E.L.D. on the way (and plenty more in the pipeline), it looks like we'll have more comic-based TV shows than you can shake a demon stick at.  S.H.I.E.L.D. seems to have its fanbase pleased, so we'll see if NBC can deliver with what looks to be a pretty cool premise.

Constantine, starring Matt Ryan, Lucy Griffiths, Harold Perrineau, and Charles Halford, hits TV sets this fall on NBC.
