Open road changes release dates for Robert Rodriguez’s Machete Kills and Jason Statham’s Homefront

Well, it seems like Robert Rodriguez is playing the release date shuffle pretty hard these days. Earlier this week it was announced that his SIN CITY: A DAME TO KILL FOR sequel was pushed back almost a year and now comes word that Open Road has pushed his other sequel, MACHETE KILLS, back a month. That’s certainly a much shorter wait than a year, so it’s doubtful this news will sour folks that much, but there it is. The new release date for MACHETE KILLS is October 4, 2013 (moving from September 13, 2013).

Additionally, Open Road is shifting the release date for it’s Sylvester Stallone-penned/Gary Fleder-directed action pic HOMEFRONT, which stars Jason Statham, James Franco, Frank Grillo, Winona Ryder, Kate Bosworth, Rachelle Lefevre, and Clancy Brown. The action-thriller was originally slotted for MACHETE KILLS’ new date (October 4), and is now shifting over a month to November 27, 2013. I’d kind of forgotten about this one, but I’m digging the cast and Stallone’s involvement has my interest piqued. Could be cool, no?

Rearrange your calendar’s accordingly, Schmoes!
