John C. Reilly has signed on for Wreck-It Ralph 2

It's surprising that given the $470 million worldwide haul of WRECK-IT RALPH that we haven't heard more about the sequel lately . . . until now. It was always a assumed that we'd be getting a follow up to John C. Reilly's beloved character, and now we have confirmation. At Ireland's leading film festival, the Galway Film Fleadh, C. Reilly served as the guest of honor and announced that he officially signed on for a WRECK-IT RALPH 2, as reported by attendee Penny Hart

There's been discussion of Ralph possibly running into another version of himself, and given the money made on the first, I'm sure Disney would be willing to shell out a little more to bring other classic video game characters into the mix. RALPH Director Rich Moore is currently working on ZOOTOPIA (check out the teaser here) which is set for a March 2016 release, so we probably shouldn't expect something until 2017.

Also, it's worth mentioning that Nintendo President Satoru Iwata passed away recently at age 55 due to a bile duct growth. The man was an icon in his field having worked on Earthbound, Kirby and Pokemon games before joining Nintendo proper. He had a huge hand in changing the industry with the Nintendo DS handheld systems and the motion-controlled Wii console. He was one of the few who really seemed to take a great amount of joy from his work. R.I.P.
