Lucasfilm president confirms that a new Indiana Jones film is coming

Disney developing a new Indiana Jones film at some point is a given, but as of now, we've had nothing but rumors flying around left and right. From Chris Pratt staring as the titular hero to Steven Spielberg even directing the next actor to take up the whip, we've had plenty to chew one, but now we have some official words from the Lucasfilm president herself, Kathleen Kennedy. Vanity Fair's Bruce Handy recently spoke with the woman regarding all things STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS and the topic of Indy came up.

Bruce Handy's note regarding Kathleen Kennedy and Indiana Jones:

In buying the company, Disney also got rights, for better or worse, to less-storied Lucasfilm properties, among them Willow and Radioland Murders. A bigger prize is the Indiana Jones franchise. Kennedy confirmed rumors that another Indy movie “will one day be made inside this company. When it will happen, I’m not quite sure. We haven’t started working on a script yet, but we are talking about it.”

Obviously Lucasfilm is pretty occupied with all things STAR WARS for the next few years, so it's not a surprise that there isn't any immediacy to bringing a new Indy flick to life. While Disney is pumping out STAR WARS flicks left and right with THE FORCE AWAKENS, ROGUE ONE and the new Boba Fett movie on the horizon, they seem to be doing fans right by hiring passionate filmmakers with a great love for the saga. If they can pour as much love and attention into Indy that J.J. Abrams seemingly has with THE FORCE AWAKENS, I think we're in good hands. Also, Nick Offerman for Indiana Jones. Just sayin'. He could whittle his way out of any situation.

I would LOVE for Lucasfilm to present the next Indy movie with a a pulpy trailer like this one!
