Theater chains announce 27-hour Marvel movie marathon ending with Avengers 2

AMC Theaters and Regal Entertainment have announced they will be hosting a Marvel "Ultimate Marathon Event" with back-to-back screenings of all 11 Marvel films (similar to the 2012 marathon for THE AVENGERS), culminating with AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON. The marathon will begin on April 29 with IRON MAN, and end on April 30 with THE AVENGERS sequel. If you purchase a marathon ticket for a Regal theater you'll also get an "exclusive collectable medallion." Tickets are $65 each, which is a pretty good deal since it comes out to about $5.91 per movie, and select Cinemark, Megaplex, Harkins and National Amusements theaters are reportedly also participating in the event.

Regal hasn't posted their schedule for the event yet, but here's how the marathon will play out at AMC theaters:

6:00pm IRON MAN
8:25pm THE INCREDIBLE HULK
10:35pm IRON MAN 2
1:00am THOR
3:10am CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER
5:30am THE AVENGERS
8:48am IRON MAN 3
11:15am THOR: THE DARK WORLD
1:45pm CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER
4:20pm GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY
7:00pm AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON (RealD® 3D)

While AMC hasn't announced which theaters will have the marathon, Regal locations can be found here. If you don't think your ass will be able to handle sitting in a theater for 11 movies, Regal and Cinemark are also doing a double feature of THE AVENGERS and AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON on April 30.

One could very easily just watch the previous movies at home before going to see AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON, but it is still an awesome deal, and I'm sure there are more than a few people who are interested in seeing the Marvel flicks again on the big screen.

AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON opens on May 1, 2015.
