I Want That: NECA’s Ghostbusters Life-Size Slimer

Ever dream of having your very own focused, non-terminal repeating phantasm or a class 5 full roaming vapor… or, to the layperson, Slimer of GHOSTBUSTERS fame? Well, toy company NECA has answered the call and is giving you the oppurtunity to have and keep a life-size replica of the nasty little spud famous for sliming Bill Murray's Dr. Peter Venkman in the 1984 classic.

Set for release in August, the three-foot tall foam replica of Slimer can be yours for the taking, having been re-created from original movie molds from Ivan Reitman's film. The replica figure is made of foam rubber and latex and has been hand-painted to give it as much realistic detail as possible.

Now who wants one?

Unfortunately, you're going to have to start saving your pennies in a major way as NECA's asking price is $700 per Slimer. Yes, that's a SEVEN with two zeroes behind it. That may seem awfully steep, but come on… It is 36 inches high and, given that it cost the Sedgewick Hotel $5000 for catching and storing this disgusting blob the first time around with proton charging included, 700 bucks doesn't sound like a bad deal for the right to give him a loving home.
