12 new character posters for HBO’s Game of Thrones season 3 debut

Well, that was my first feeling upon seeing these 12 new character posters for the third season of HBO’s Game of Thrones as the two-tone blue and white on each respective face reminded me Mel Gibson in BRAVEHEART.  And really, there’s nothing wrong with that.  The posters feature the majority of the key characters in the epic series based on author George R.R. Martin’s “A Song of Ice and Fire” series, including Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead Wright), Catelyn Stark (Michelle Fairley), Arya Stark (Maisie Williams), Jon Snow (Kit Harington), Queen Cersei (Lena Headey), The Hound (Rory McCann), Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage), Jaimie “The Kingslayer” Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau), Robb Stark (Richard Madden), Daenerys Targaryan (Emilia Clarke), Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner), and the ever-lovable Joffrey Baratheon (Jack Gleason).

The best thing about it being March 1st is that we now only have 30 days before the third season of the show kicks off.  In my opinion it’s the best show out there, and that’s saying a lot as there are a lot of great shows.  Based on the first half of the third novel in the series “A Storm of Swords” (the second half of the book will be season 4) the show is destined to deliver more of the shock, awe, and downright nastiness that we’ve seen in the previous two seasons.  And likely just as much blood, gore, and nudity.  We’re in win-win territory here.
