New making-of featurette for HBO’s Game of Thrones: season 3 highlights the translation of the books to the screen

A new making-of featurette for the third season of HBO’s Game of Thrones has surfaced, this time focusing on the writing, particularly the translation of the book(s) to the screen.  Executive story editor Bryan Cogman discusses the process of keeping the story straight throughout filming while keeping within budget and ensuring that the most important elements are honed in on.  The featurette shows off a ton of behind-the-scenes footage, including Jon Snow’s first meeting with The King Beyond The Wall, Mance Rayder (played by Ciaran Hinds) as well as a number of other sound bites.

As a huge fan of the books and the series, I am more excited for this than most movies coming out this year and just catching glimpses of all the characters on set gets me riled up something fierce.  The show has proven to be a great success and one of the most faithful adaptations I’ve ever seen.
