By the looks of things, the greatest comedy event of 2015 is not headed to theaters, but rather Netflix subscribers. Enter Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp. This prequel to the film of (almost) the same name will follow the inhabitants of Camp Firewood as friendships are formed, relationships bloom and hormones rage against a backdrop of athletics, arts and crafts, theater, secret identities, sexual discovery and diabolical government conspiracies. Sounds like your everyday camp to me! The real draw here is the amount of talent involved, and it has to be seen to be believed!

So not only do we have the entire cast from the film, which inclues Elizabeth Banks, H. Jon Benjamin, Michael Ian Black, Bradley Cooper, Judah Friedlander, Janeane Garofalo, Nina Hellman, Joe Lo Truglio, Ken Marino, Christopher Meloni, A.D. Miles, Marguerite Moreau, Zak Orth, David Hyde Pierce, Amy Poehler, Paul Rudd, Marisa Ryan and Molly Shannon, but we also have the likes of Lake Bell, Michael Cera, Josh Charles, Jon Hamm, Randall Park, Jordan Peele, Chris Pine, John Slattery, Jason Schwartzman, Michaela Watkins, Kristen Wiig and Weird Al Yankovic. Whew!

The cult film is ridiculously stupid in the best way possible, but does overstay its welcome. With this show sporting 30 minute segments, I'd wager that's the perfect amount of time to get one's American Summer fix without getting tired of all the ridiculousness. Of course, this is coming from someone who's most likely going to binge through this entire bad boy anyway, but that's just me.

Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp will hit Netflix on July 31, 2015.
