The LAPD are investigating the theft of the original Iron Man suit

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

This just in … The original Iron Man suit from the 2008 film that launched the Marvel Cinematic Universe has gone missing. While the police have yet to announce any official suspects at this time, it's to be believed that both philanthropists Obadiah Stane and Justin Hammer may be involved. Heh, not really.

News of the theft broke when CBS2 News anchor Pat Harvey tweeted that the costume, worth a rumored $320,000, had disappeared from a props facility in Pacoima, Los Angeles. The outfit was last seen in February, which means that whoever took the item escaped with it through quite a large window of time. You can check out the report below, accompanied by a video clip of the film presented in laughably-bad quality:

The LAPD are currently looking into the theft, but have yet to obtain warrants to search the basements of every covetous collector in the Los Angeles area. Please, if you see someone walking around town, or trying to foil a bank robbery, while wearing the suit, dial 911 and alert the proper authorities.

As for me, I'll settle for the suit of armor I keep in my Nerd Cave. He stands at 6 1/2 feet tall, and his name is Lance.
