Blacklist scribe to pen The Other Typist comedy starring Kiera Knightley

Earlier today, Deadline Hollywood exclusively revealed that THE BLACK LIST scribe, Marissa Jo Crear, has been hired to pen a rewrite of THE OTHER TYPIST for Fox Searchlight. Produced by and starring PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MEN TELL NO TALES actress Keira Knightley, the forthcoming film is based on the novel of the same name written by Suzanne Rindell.

The film is set to tell the story of Rose, a lonely and isolated typist in a police precinct who befriends a beautiful and mysterious co-worker who then introduces her to the glamorous and forbidden underworld of 1920s New York. Before long, Rose finds herself accused of murder in the big city.

Jack Arbuthnott and Ed Rubin of the Scott Free UK banner will oversee the making of the film, which is still in the development stages.

One thing's for certain. I wouldn't want to be in Rose's shoes when the fuzz comes banging on her door and looking for answers. The 1920s were a rough time to be anyone living in the Manhattan area, especially if you were a woman who'd be accused of murder. I also have to admit that I'm warming to this idea. I think it'd be fun to see Knightley star in a pitch-black comedy, and the premise sounds intriguing to boot.
