Michelle Williams confirms her role in the upcoming Venom movie

While participating in an interview with ScreenRant, Michelle Williams has confirmed that she'll be playing the character Anne Weying in Ruben Fleischer's VENOM starring Tom Hardy.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with the character, Weying is Eddie Brock's ex-wife in the pages of Marvel Comics. At one point in her contribution to the ongoing rivalry between Brock's Venom and his nemesis, Spider-Man, Weying convinces Brock to no longer pursue his grievance with the wise-cracking web-head. Later in her story, Weying is shot by the serial killer villain called Sin-Eater. In a desperate effort to save her life, Brock's Venom symbiote bonded with Weying, transforming her into She-Venom. While under the influence of her new identity, Weying killed several people, an act that one day drives her to commit suicide. It's a tragic tale to be certain. It's the kind of story that, if executed well, could provide for an emotionally-driven sub-plot when VENOM goes to screen.

While speaking with ScreenRant, Williams shared the following:

“We’re having fun,” Williams said. “We’re having fun. For me it’s Tom. I just thought, ‘Well, that guy knows what he’s doing. I’m just going to go steal some of his moves, figure out what he knows.’ You know, you’re only as good as the people you play with and I really wanted to challenge myself with him as a partner.”

Later in their talk, Williams also revealed that she's still wrapping her skills around working on a film that relies so heavily on digital effects. “I’ve done one other movie where I was asked to track a tennis ball with my eyes and pretend it was a giant creature thing,” Williams says. “Not my favorite thing in the world to do, but it is a skill set and I’m trying to learn it.”

Well how do you like that? It looks like we might be getting two Venoms for the price of one when this Spider-verse film makes its October 5, 2018 debut! Are you excited for this movie? Have you read the Marvel Comics story, "Lethal Protector." for which it is based? Do you wish that we could just skip ahead to the part when Carnage enters the fray? Are you pumped to see Weying bond with the Venom symbiote? Let us know your thoughts and feelings regarding all of this stuff below.
