Netflix has released a slightly NSFW (there's a small amount of nudity) teaser trailer for Marco Polo, giving us a first look at the upcoming series. Created and written by HIDALGO and THE FORBIDDEN KINGDOM scribe John Fusco, the series is about the Italian explorer's early years in Kublai Khan's court in 13th century China. KON-TIKI's Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg directed the pilot for the $90 million series, and it stars newcomer Lorenzo Richelmy (as Marco Polo), Benedict Wong, Olivia Cheng, Rick Yune, Tom Wu, Joan Chen and Claudia Kim.

So what's the verdict? The teaser likely won't blow you away or anything, but if you were already planning on watching Marco Polo, you'll probably still want to after checking out this first trailer.

"The blood of an adventurer courses through your veins."

All 10 episodes of Marco Polo will hit Netflix on December 12, 2014.
