It's been reported today via Variety that actresses Michelle Yeoh and Selina Lo have signed on to join Mel Gibson and Frank Grillo in Joe Carnahan’s action thriller BOSS LEVEL. Many will be familiar with Yeoh after viewing her work in Ang Lee's award-winning CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON. She also appeared as a Bond girl in the Roger Spottiswoode-directed TOMORROW NEVER DIES alongside Pierce Broanan. Next for Yeoh is a featured role in Jon M. Chu's CRAZY RICH ASIANS. In regard to British-born actress Selina Lo, BOSS LEVEL will be her first major role after appearing on the BBC’s ONE CHILD, as well as Jesse Johnson’s THE DEBT COLLECTOR. If you want to dig way back to a time when a once-beloved franchise devolved into a shadow of its former self, Lo also appeared in SCORPION KING 3.

BOSS LEVEL centers on a retired U.S. Army Special Forces veteran (Grillo) trapped in a never-ending loop, resulting in his death every day. In order to stop his endless suffering, he must figure out who is responsible and stop them. Set to star in the film are Mel GIbson, Frank Grillo, Naomi Watts, and Ken Jeong. No details as to who Yeoh or Lo will play in the thriller have been revealed at this time, though it has been said that Lo will star in a key supporting role.

Joe Carnahan will direct the production financed by Randall Emmett and George Furla of Emmett/Furla/Oasis, with Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Mark Vahradian also serving as producers. Also getting in on the venture are Carnahan and Grillo’s War Party, who will executive produce via a partnership with Scott Free’s Jules Daly.

BOSS LEVEL is expected to hit theaters sometime in 2019.
